Dancing Fox

Dancing Fox. Pen and ink drawing on
cartridge paper 2012.

I imagined this as I listened
to music by Percy Grainger.
I think I may do some more
and choose other animals, but
I do like the sly fox.

Shadowy card cut -outs. Made in 2009 during my art course.

Some of the work below is recent and some from past sketch books or art courses.
I like to work from black and white photos although I enjoy using a range of materials.
I took lots of photos of the card one below and I may post some more. The figures where quite small
but it was fun to place them in different positions to make various scenes.

Shadow Theatre

shadowy cut-outs made from card and lit with a strong light from above.
I arranged them to look like a theatre or a stage scene, I think it looks effective

Costume for Sheherazade

A dancer in costume for  Sheherazade. I used watercolours
inks and gold paint. The original design is by Leon Bakst.
I made this image in 2012

Purple Dancer . Ink applied to damp paper creates
blurred lines and dots. From my 2010 sketch book.
